Technology overload finally got to you? High50

's Angelica Malin explores five perfect locations to unplug the tech and recharge body and brain...

Sometimes it all gets a bit much: phones buzzing, texts beeping, unread emails stacking up, Facebook to check, catch-up to catch up on, headphones in your ear, noise from iPods, iPads, i-everything, and you need to find some head space.

It's times like these that a total unplug, a break away from it all, is exactly what the doctor ordered. What you need is a complete digital detox. Cold turkey. No distractions, and nothing to keep your mind in overdrive. Ideally somewhere that doesn't even have WiFi.

We've selected five perfect locations around the world for a digital detox. Phones away please, it's time to relaaaax.

1. Perfect peace at Coworth Park, Berkshire

What: This package is designed for the stressed out, spa-seeking Londoner (it's only 45 minutes' drive away). Coworth Park is the perfect place to unwind and detox, with 240 acres of parkland, beautiful hotel gardens and a summer meadow. It also has a sensational spa, with world-class treatments and a beautiful sun-lounging area. If it was good enough for John Lennon, it's good enough for us.

The package: Breakfast and accommodation for two, massages or facials, use of the relaxation room and fresh fruit smoothies. Checking your phone in on arrival is optional, but if you're here you might as well go the whole hog.

Price: From £415 per night Sunday-Thursday. Suites from £975 Monday-Sunday, based on double occupancy.

2. A Digital Detox retreat in San Francisco

What: These small, private packages are designed for the over-tweeter who needs a serious break. It's a fully immersive retreat for ten people which focuses on wellbeing. You're not allowed to talk about work, to network, or even wear a watch. The retreat is in the Mendocino hills (pictured above), two hours from San Francisco, set among large redwood trees with pond-side hot tubs and beautiful scenery. The idea is to take a few days off the grid, allowing you to return to daily life with new-found energy, inspiration and a more balanced approach to our digital lives.

The package: Two nights' accommodation, two hours of yoga each morning, healthy vegetarian meals, hot tub, guided meditation, daily juices and writing workshops. Expect total peace.

Price: From $595.

3. Hotel Remota, Patagonia, Chile

What: This isn't a package as such, but we defy anyone to want to be on their phone in this beautiful country. Patagonia is a vast, beautiful place, and this hotel is perfectly placed to explore Torres del Paine National Park, the fjords, glaciers and cattle ranches. It's one of the finest luxury hotels in Chile, and the hotel can arrange an eight-man tour of the local area.

The package: Try the Wellness Holiday, which includes yoga, organic vegan food and tranquil down-time at the stunning spa. There is complimentary WiFi throughout the hotel, but we recommend you stay clear.
