A London-bound flight was grounded in Toronto's Pearson International Airport after a passenger sparked a security scare by talking about bombs before take-off.

Another passenger on the plane overheard the man talking on his cellphone after everyone had boarded the plane and expressed their concern to the flight crew.

According to the Daily Mail, police boarded the Air Canada Boeing 767 before take-off and arrested a 22-year-old man, believed to be Sohill Agha.

His luggage was also removed from the aircraft.

"We arrested him for mischief," said acting Sergeant Thomas Rutton of the Peel Regional Police, adding that charges are pending.

According to Air Canada spokesman Peter Fitzpatrick, flight 868 was scheduled to leave Toronto at 8:55 a.m.

The Boeing 767, carrying 161 passengers, took off about two hours behind schedule and landed safety, reports the Star.
