A Virgin America plane travelling from Boston to Los Angeles had to make an emergency landing in Nebraska after a passenger became agitated.

According to CBS Los Angeles, the passenger was wearing a hospital bracelet and apparently was having mental problems.

The Federal Aviation Administration released the following statement about the in-flight scare:

"The flight crew of Virgin America flight 363, an Airbus A-319 flying from Boston to Los Angeles, requested to divert to Omaha because of what they described as a medical emergency. The aircraft landed in Omaha without incident," the agency said.

The passenger in question was moved to a seat at the back of the plane, then removed and questioned by officers in Omaha, reports Mashable.

The U.S. Attorney's Office tells KETV that the passenger was taken to the hospital for observation. Officials did not provide more details.

No injuries were reported and flight 363 later resumed operation to Los Angeles International Airport.
