Video: Pensioners dance to Hot Stuff to promote remote Italian village

Updated

A group of pensioners from a remote Italian village have got together to make a video featuring themselves dancing to Donna Summers' Hot Stuff - in an unusual bid to promote the area to tourists.

This hilarious film starts off with two local men in their 80s sitting on a bench in the village of Castrovalva, high up in Italy's Abruzzo mountains. One strums a guitar while the other taps his walking stick.

The video then bursts into the full disco version of the 1980s classic song, with villagers clapping, dancing and miming.

Not surprisingly, the video already gone viral after being picked up and reposted by Italian media.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the permanent population of the village is just 19. The video started out as a way for second home owners in the village - who also appear in the video - to show their appreciation of the permanent residents.

Speaking to the newspaper, local house owner Pietro Marchasani, who shot the video, said: "We didn't believe it would receive this much attention."
