A travel company is offering the ultimate package holiday taking in all 962 UNESCO World Heritage Sites on a two year trip. The only catch is that it will cost you a cool £990,000 in what has been dubbed the world's most expensive holiday.

The Evening Standard reports that for almost £1million, adventure travellers will get to see around 1,000 of the world's most famous tourist sites, from the Great Wall of China to the Grand Canyon.

The two-year trip of a lifetime is being organised by London-based Hurlingham Travel and includes business or first-class travel on all flights and accommodation at the world's most famous luxury hotels, including the George V in Paris and the New York Plaza. It also includes a £5,000 donation to UNESCO.

The Daily Mail reports that the holiday, offered by Veryfirstto.com, will visit breathtaking landmarks, such as India's Taj Mahal, Cambodia's Angkor temples, the pyramids of Egypt and Mexico and the Inca site of Machu Picchu.

Other stops include Vietnam's Halong Bay, Petra in Jordan, Iguazu Falls at the border of Argentina and Brazil and Mount Athos and the Acropolis in Greece.

In the UK, the trip will take in attractions, like the Tower of London, Ironbridge Gorge, St Kilda and Stonehenge.

Some of the lesser-known spots covered by the package include the Armenian monasteries of Haghpat and Sanahin and the historic mosque city of Bagerhat in Bangladesh.

Andrew Barker, managing director of Hurlingham Travel told the Evening Standard: "This is certainly the most exciting trip we have ever organised and is the most remarkable travel adventure imaginable."

Marcel Knobil, founder of VeryFirstTo said: "There is no doubt that this will be one of most thrilling, memorable and inspiring experiences a couple could ever wish for."
