A man has been jailed after admitting to a drunken attack on a fellow holidaymaker at a Butlin's holiday park.

Terry Fletcher and his brother Anthony had been on a 12-hour drinking binge before they both got involved in the attack at the holiday park in Ingoldmells.

On Monday, they appeared at Lincoln Crown Court, where Abigail Joyce, prosecuting, said the brothers became involved in an argument with two other couples while walking back to their apartments in the early hours of the morning on 1 April 2012.

One of the brothers reportedly made a derogatory comment towards one of the women in the other group, and Anthony Fletcher then assaulted Scott Pley, who was given a blow to the head, before being kicked and punched on the ground.

Terry Fletcher then repeatedly kicked a second man, Stephen Harrop, to the head and body, causing two black eyes and knocking out four of his teeth.

The fight was ended when staff from the complex intervened.

According to This Is Lincolnshire, Miss Joyce said: "The staff who detained the brothers described them as being like wild animals."

Terry Fletcher, 30, from Nottinghamshire, admitted assaulting Mr Harrop causing him actual bodily harm and was jailed for 12 months.

Anthony Fletcher, 22, admitted assaulting Scott Pley causing him actual bodily harm, and was given a 16-week jail sentence suspended for 12 months with 180 hours of unpaid work.

On behalf of Terry Fletcher, a lawyer said: " He apologises whole heartedly for what happened."
