Cast your mind back to the days before the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got married - or even engaged.

You might remember that Kate earned the nickname 'Waity Katie' because she'd waited ten years to marry her prince. And Prince William's friends reportedly teased her by saying "doors to manual" when she walked into the room because her mother, Carole Middleton, used to work as an air stewardess for British Airways.

But we can safely say that the Middletons have had the last laugh and Kate's brother, James, reportedly treated his parents to a pair of reclining airline seats from eBay to celebrate.

The Mirror reports that James bought the seats for £100 in May 2011, just two weeks after the royal wedding.

The reclining seats, made by Boeing, were brand new and had been refitted with castor wheels. They also had in-flight entertainment controls, seatbelts and tray tables - as well as the all-important safety card.

The seats would have made a brilliantly bizarre gift for the couple, who met when they both worked for BA. Michael Middleton initially worked as an office and later became a flight dispatcher at Heathrow Airport. The couple now run a party supplies business.
