Woman 'seriously injured' after falling between platform and train

A woman is being treated for 'serious injuries' after falling between a platform and a moving train at Charing Cross station in London.
The victim, who is believed to be in her thirties from Kent, was travelling on the 22.26 Charing Cross to Dartford service on Saturday. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman told the Daily Mail: "BTP officers were called to Charing Cross rail station on Saturday, 24 November, after a woman fell between a train and the platform as the service had begun to move away.
"London Ambulance Service medics also attended and the woman, aged in her thirties and from Kent, was taken to King's College Hospital with serious injuries, including to one of her legs.
"She currently remains in hospital and is described as being in a stable condition.
"The incident was reported to BTP at 10.32pm. Having spoken to witnesses and viewed CCTV, officers are currently treating the incident as non-suspicious and accidental, although enquiries will be made to establish the full circumstances."
The news comes just weeks after a woman lost both hands when she was hit and trapped by a train in Ireland.
The appalling accident took place at Dun Laoghaire Dart station, County Dublin.
The woman, believed to be in her early twenties, was hit by the north-bound Greystones to Malahide DART train when she was on the tracks as it pulled into the station.
