Who would have thought that X-Factor judge Louis Walsh could boost flight sales and influence travel trends?

Since the show's longest-standing judge announced that he was taking his group of contestants to Barcelona for 'bootcamp' last week, bookings to the sunny Spanish city have apparently soared by 30 per cent.

Flight comparison site Skyscanner believes viewers are being influenced by the show, selecting destinations announced by the judges and boosting bookings.

Kelly Rowland, who jetted off wit the girls to Miami, is said to have boosted sales for the Florida city by 20 per cent, while flights to Los Angeles received a 10 per cent spike thanks to Gary Barlow, who has taken the boys' X-Factor category there.

However, Skyscanner reported only a three per cent lift in bookings to Greece, where Tulisa said she was taking the groups category. Come on Tulisa! Greece needs you!
