The Buffalo Sabres have confirmed Jack Eichel will make his season debut on Tuesday against the Montreal Senators.
After being selected No. 2 overall in last year's draft, Eichel dazzled in his rookie season. But a high ankle sprain caused him to miss the start of this season.
Sabres winger Marcus Foligno is excited to get Eichel back in the line-up, claiming the young star will provide a much-needed spark.
"It just brings a little more confidence to the group, a little more positive attitude," Foligno said, via the Buffalo News. "We lost something definitely when he got injured. Now we have that piece of the puzzle back. It's a big piece.
"He's a phenomenal player, someone that can just do something singlehandedly. We have the skill in here, but other teams have that individual talent, and that's something we were missing when Jack went down."
Eichel scored 24 goals with 32 assists for a total of 56 points last season. He is one of the most exciting young players in NHL.
