Updated:

The Golden State Warriors extended their winning streak in the NBA as the Los Angeles Clippers crashed to a surprise loss to the Detroit Pistons.

For the second time in three days the Warriors defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, winning 109-85 on Friday.

The high-flying Clippers lost for the first time on the road this season, upstaged 108-97 to the Pistons in Detroit.

Reigning champions the Cleveland Cavaliers routed the lowly Dallas Mavericks 128-90 to celebrate LeBron James' 1,000th regular-season game.

Russell Westbrook led the Oklahoma City Thunder to an overtime win against the Denver Nuggets.

ANOTHER DAY, SAME RESULT

The Warriors crushed the Lakers by 43 points in Oakland on Wednesday and Golden State were at it again two days later.

Kevin Durant posted 29 points and reigning MVP Steph Curry scored 24 to keep the streaking Warriors hot.

The Lakers were led by Jordan Clarkson's 20 points on home court.

PISTONS END SLUMP AGAINST CLIPPERS

Detroit had lost 11 consecutive games to the Clippers but that all changed on Friday.

Despite blowing an 18-point lead in the third quarter, the Pistons rallied for back-to-back wins.

It was just the Clippers' second loss in 13 games as they fell to 7-1 away from home.

LEBRON'S MILESTONE ENDS IN VICTORY

Playing in his 1,000th regular-season game, it was business as usual for James and the Cavs.

James had 19 points and 11 rebounds in a double-double display as the Cavs won their third successive game.

Kevin Love scored 27 points and Kyrie Irving added 25 against the league's worst team, while Dirk Nowitzki posted 15 points for Dallas.
