The Cincinnati Bengals lost one of their top playmakers on the second play from scrimmage against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, with A.J. Green sustaining a hamstring injury.
Wide receiver Green was the intended target for quarterback Andy Dalton on second-and-15 and was hit by Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore as he attempted to gather a high pass.
As the 28-year-old fell to the turf at Paul Brown Stadium, he immediately grabbed the back of his right leg.
Green was carted off the field and, after initially reporting his return was "questionable", the Bengals confirmed he would not return to the action.
