While Alastair Cook and his England team struggled to come to terms with their dramatic collapse and first Test loss to Bangladesh in Dhaka on Sunday, a fellow national team representative was making a name for himself for all the right reasons.
The prosthetic leg of England physical disability cricketer Liam Thomas became detached as he attempted to field a shot playing in a Twenty20 match against Pakistan in Dubai.
Undeterred, Thomas still managed to return the ball, demonstrating commendable determination in the process.
His efforts alone were not enough for England to avoid defeat, as Pakistan won by three wickets in what was the final of the ICC Academy invitational T20 tournament.
But regardless of the outcome, the resourceful Thomas has deservedly grabbed the spotlight around the world.
