Two-time FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup champion Anna Veith will miss the start of the season as she continues her recuperation from a serious knee injury.
Veith, nee Fenninger, missed the entire 2015/16 World Cup campaign after the Austrian was airlifted to hospital following an accident on a training run in Solden.
The 27-year-old sustained a tear to the collateral and the anterior cruciate ligament of her right knee, as well as a torn patellar tendon.
Olympic Super-G champion Veith revealed she is still not ready to return ahead of the first race of the season in Solden next Saturday.
Veith vowed on Facebook that she will do "everything just to be back again soon ... in the World Cup."
