Former Zimbabwe captain Heath Streak has been appointed as the country's new head coach.
Makhaya Ntini has been fulfilling the role in an interim capacity since May, following the removal of Dav Whatmore after a disappointing World Twenty20 campaign.
But Zimbabwe confirmed on Tuesday that Streak had taken the role on a permanent basis.
Streak - Zimbabwe's record wicket taker in Tests and one-day internationals - made 65 appearances for his country in the longer form of the game and turned out on 189 occasions over 50 overs.
The 42-year-old's first task will be to prepare his side for a Test double-header against Sri Lanka, which gets under way in Harare on October 29.
Streak left his position as Bangladesh bowling coach in May.
