Gabriel opens Inter account in friendly win

Gabriel Barbosa scored his first Inter goal in a 1-0 friendly win over Lugano on Thursday.

The striker, who is among the nominees for 2016's Golden Boy award along with Renato Sanches and Marcus Rashford, scored from the penalty spot in the narrow victory.

The 20-year-old is not in Brazil's squad for World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Venezuela despite having scored two goals in four caps.

Golden Boy - an award established by Italian newspaper Tuttosport in 2003 and voted for by a panel of journalists from around the continent - is given to the player under the age of 21 who has impressed the most over the calendar year in Europe.
