Ben Flower will miss Wigan Warriors' Super League semi-final after receiving a two-match ban for pleading guilty to a Grade C strike with the elbow.
A late challenge on Declan Patton in the Warriors' dramatic 35-28 victory over Warrington Wolves at the Halliwell Jones Stadium last Friday resulted in Flower being shown a red card.
The utility forward connected with a high shot on Patton when closing down the Wolves half-back as he kicked the ball forward.
Flower was charged with a reckless Grade C strike with the elbow by the Rugby Football League and pleaded guilty, receiving a two-match ban and £300 fine.
The 28-year-old will consequently miss Friday's final Super 8s match against Catalans Dragons and the semi-final that will follow.
Flower previously served a six-month ban for punching St Helens' Lance Hohaia in the 2014 Grand Final.
