South Sydney Rabbitohs upset Canterbury Bulldogs 28-10 in the NRL on Friday to end their season on a run of four straight wins.
Doubles from Aaron Gray and Joe Burgess secured a comprehensive victory for the visitors in the Special Olympics Cup at Belmore Sports Ground despite Josh Jackson giving the Bulldogs an early lead.
Sam Burgess got Souths on the board before John Sutton's interception teed up Joe Burgess to run almost the full length of the field, beating three defenders, to cross and put his side 12-6 ahead at half-time.
The Bulldogs had already secured their finals place and Josh Reynolds took advantage of sloppy play from the hosts to narrow the gap before Souths ran in 16 unanswered points to extend their winning streak.
Gray went over between the posts after a fantastic team move and four minutes later he crossed again, selflessly set up by Damien Cook, before Joe Burgess added late gloss to the scoreline and condemned the Bulldogs to a third successive loss.
