Smith to miss home GP with knee injury

Updated:

Bradley Smith will miss the British Grand Prix and the San Marino Grand Prix because of a knee injury.

The Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider suffered knee ligament damage in his right knee in a practice crash at Oschersleben 8 Hours last week.

As a result Smith will not be able to take part in his home grand prix at Silverstone on September 4 and at Misano a week later.

Alex Lowes will take Smith's place in the field for both races.
