Croatia's Sandra Perkovic defended her Olympic discus title with a sole legal throw of 69.21 metres at Rio 2016 on Tuesday, becoming the third double champion in the event.
France's Melina Robert-Michon earned silver with a throw of 66.73m and Cuba's Denia Caballero secured the bronze medal with 65.34m.
As she had done in qualifying, Perkovic fouled her first two attempts before delivering the goods at the third time of asking.
Perkovic was unable to better that marker, failing to post another legal throw in her remaining three attempts, but held on for victory.
The result sees her join Nina Ponomaryova and Evelin Jahl as a double Olympic discus champion.
