Fetuli Talanoa scored a hat-trick as Hull FC thrashed Widnes Vikings 38-0 on Thursday to put the disappointment of last week's loss to Castleford Tigers firmly behind them.
The Super League leaders suffered a 30-16 defeat in their first game of the Super 8s, but made amends with a convincing home win.
It was a second consecutive loss for the Vikings, who went down 20-16 to Catalans Dragons on Saturday.
Jordan Abdull's first try of the season handed the hosts an early lead, with a superb Talanoa score and Mahe Fonua's determined effort extending Hull's advantage.

Talanoa pierced the visitors' line again before the interval, while Steve Michaels got in on the act 11 minutes into the second half.
Dean Hadley also opened his account for the season to make it 32-0, with Talanoa fittingly having the final say.
