Of all the people to be body shamed on social media you wouldn't expect an Olympic athlete to be the subject. But during the women's artistic gymnastics competition in Rio, Mexican gymnast Alexa Morales became the butt of cruel jibes on Twitter.
The 22-year-old competed on the beam, vault, uneven bars and floor so that's pretty amazing. It was also a big moment for Mexican gymnastics because the country never has many competitors for this event at the Olympics.
But that didn't stop some people commenting about her weight (she's only 45kg by the way, not that it should be relevant).
Alexa Moreno, otro ejemplo de pseudo "Atletas" que no debe de mandar la CONADE solo por llenar la cuota.

That translates to: "Alexa Moreno, another example of pseudo 'athletes' that should not be sent by CONADE just to fill the quota."
We'll spare you the rest of the horrible comments, because Twitter was full of overwhelming support for Morales.
#alexamoreno has the strength and the beauty of those who dare. Love u

And pointed out the irony of the nasty comments.
The people who are hating on #AlexaMoreno probably can't even touch their toes ?

To those body shaming #AlexaMoreno from their sofas at home, she has achieved more at 22 than you probably will in your entire life. ?

I'd love to see anyone body-shaming Alexa Moreno do that badass floor routine she pulled off. She's a tremendous athlete and cute as can be.
