Rio 2016: US women storm to team gymnastics gold

Simone Biles performed the winning floor routine as United States dominated the women's team gymnastics final at Rio 2016 on Tuesday.

The USA team - consisting of Biles, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, Madison Kocian and Aly Raisman - topped the standings on all four apparatus to triumph by a huge margin of 8.209 points.

Douglas and Raisman were part of the group that won in London four years ago and become the first gymnasts since Svetlana Boginskaya in 1988 and 1992 to win back-to-back golds in the event.

As in 2012, silver went to Russia, while China returned to the podium in third having last appeared on the top step in 2008.
