Brisbane Broncos' terrible run of form continued at Allianz Stadium on Thursday as Sydney Roosters sent them to a seventh NRL defeat in nine games.
The Roosters ran in six tries as they recorded only their fourth win of the season, Dale Copley with a double in the 32-16 success.
Defeat leaves the Broncos looking over their shoulder as their place in the top eight continues to look perilous.
The Roosters were out of the blocks quickly and found the first hole in the Broncos' defence after four minutes, Copley rounding off a flowing move on the left.
Jarrod Wallace brought the Broncos level midway through the half, but that was as good as it got for the visitors as the Roosters produced a stunning display of attacking rugby.
Within eight minutes of Wallace's try, Latrell Mitchell restored the Roosters' lead before Blake Ferguson scored a third first-half try - Sio Siua Taukeiacho kicking all three first-half conversions.
Ferguson was on hand again early in the second half as the Roosters' extended their 18-6 advantage, the full-back producing a superb piece of athleticism close to the touchline to put Shaun Kenny-Dowall in.
Tom Opacic threatened a Broncos revival just before the hour, but their defensive frailties returned as Boyd Cordner and Copley scored to complete a memorable win for Sydney, with Darius Boyd's late try offering the Roosters scant consolation.
