Stoke delivered a candidate for tweet of the season before it has even started after brilliantly replying to a parody account after signing Joe Allen from Liverpool on Monday.
The "Deluded Brendan" account - a parody of Allen's former Swansea and Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers - tweeted this after news of the Wales midfielder's move on a £13 million deal from the Reds.

It's rare that clubs engage with parody accounts, but Stoke's response was the sort of perfectly-aimed response that Twitter was made for.
The tweet has had more than 6,000 retweets and likes - even Deluded Brendan gave it a RT - as fans have joined in the fun.

Stoke have good reason to feel pretty chuffed with themselves. Allen was picked in the Euro 2016 team of the tournament after helping Wales to the semi-finals, and if you're not following their Twitter account, it's well worth it.
The club also signed teenage Egypt winger Ramadan Sobhi on Monday, and before the double announcement, they alerted us something was pending with this.
?WARNING!? This is us announcing an announcement...
