Fans are feeling pretty good about David Moyes' appointment as Sunderland manager

Updated:

David Moyes is relishing the chance to succeed new England manager Sam Allardyce at Sunderland and return to the Premier League.

In a statement on Sunderland's website, Moyes said: "I am delighted to have joined Sunderland. I am relishing the challenge and excited by the opportunity.

"I have taken over a big British club with a great support and I'm looking forward to working in the Premier League again.

"I look forward to continuing the good work done by Sam."

People seem to think it was a decent appointment.

But obviously it wasn't all that long ago, during his brief stint at Manchester United, when he was a very unpopular guy.

So there's yet another reason to get excited about the return of the Prem.
