Salford Red Devils have completed the signing of Luke Burgess and Feleti Mateo from NRL outfit Manly Sea Eagles, it was confirmed on Friday.
English-born Burgess returns to the Super League after moving to Australia from Leeds Rhinos in 2011, having spent four years with South Sydney Rabbitohs before joining Manly in 2015.
The 29-year-old prop made 70 appearances across the two NRL clubs.
Burgess will arrive in Manchester in time for the Super 8 qualifiers, which begin in two weeks' time.
"Our guys have really stood up during the regular season and bringing in players of Luke's quality will give everybody a boost at this stage," said Salford head coach Ian Watson.
"We have been monitoring him since before the season and are delighted to be bringing him to the AJ Bell Stadium.
"We have been a top six team on our performances and we have to go out and get through a tough middle 8s making sure our play is up to the same standard. Luke will add to our squad and cause our opponents problems."
Mateo, 32, had a short stint for the London Broncos in 2005 but has spent the rest of his career in the NRL, representing Parramatta Eels, New Zealand Warriors and Manly.
"Feleti is a great addition to our squad, he comes with a wealth of experience at the highest level, and will be able to bring that into the 8s," Watson added.
