Wrestler Kumar could be withdrawn from Games after anti-doping violation

Wrestler Vinod Kumar could be withdrawn from the Australian Olympic team after an anti-doping violation.

Kumar has been suspended for four years but has 30 days to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) following his positive test at the African/Oceania qualifier.

He tested positive in Alger, Algeria, and subsequent tests were also positive.

The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) moved on Friday to have Kumar withdrawn from the Games by Wrestling Australia.

In a statement, the AOC said: "The Australian Olympic Committee has asked Wrestling Australia to withdraw the nomination of athlete Vinod Kumar for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games following an anti-doping violation."

Kumar has qualified in the 66kg Greco-Roman.
