Nene Macdonald scored a try in each half as Gold Coast Titans leapfrogged St George Illawarra Dragons to go seventh in the NRL ladder with an emphatic 32-12 victory on Friday.
The Titans made the trip to the ubilee Oval knowing a win would move them into the top eight and they seized that opportunity by outscoring the Dragons by six tries to two.
Winger Macdonald set the tone, leaping to take a kick the left from Tyrone Roberts for the opening try and Chris McQueen added a second to put the Titans 8-0 up with only eight minutes played.
Nathan Peats added a third following a fine offload from Agnatius Paasi and nimble footwork from Josh Hoffman after a Kurt Mann try had got the Dragons on the board.
The Titans led 14-6 at the break and were in no mood to allow the Dragons back in, with David Mead touching down and Macdonald intercepting a stray Gareth Widdop pass to surge away for his second try of the night.
Anthony Don raced in for a sixth try before Mann dotted down for a second time as the Dragons, missing Benji Marshall (hamstring) and Josh Dugan (jaw), suffered a second successive defeat to drop out of the top eight.
