We're not sure Colin Doyle is going to live this down, but the goalkeeper has been bought for £1 by League One club Bradford.
Apparently Doyle, who is a Republic of Ireland international, had a £1 release clause in his Blackpool contract which City *triggered* with what was effectively a gold-coin donation.
Almost certainly it means that Doyle, who has signed a two-year deal, is set for a long season getting ribbed by away fans about the fact he costs about the same as a loaf of bread.
In fact, it's already started.
Colin Doyle. £1. ONE POUND!

I went to both Poundland's in Blackpool on Monday... And neither were stocking Colin Doyle. He must have been in stock since then... #bcafc

It went on...
Needless to say Blackpool fans - who have seen their club slide down the Football League in recent seasons - were not happy to see their captain and first-choice goalie sold so cheap.
Blackpool sell Colin Doyle they're keeper and captain for a fee of £1 because of a contract, bet Oyston makes them pay the pound as well ??

It's at times like this you need a snse of humour.
