Wimbledon 2016: Everyone's agreed - Serena Williams is the greatest of all time

It's official: Serena Williams is the greatest of all time.

Well, it's almost official: Serena took her total of grand slam singles titles to 22 by beating Angelique Kerber in the Wimbledon final, levelling Steffi Graf's open era record.

So she needs one more to beat Graf - and three more to overtake Margaret Court, the majority of whose 24 titles came before the start of the open era - but pretty much everyone is agreed that, in reality, she's out on her own.

That was the view of her fellow pros - and pretty much everyone agreed with them.

But more than that, this win seemed to carry a greater significance given everything happening in America right now.

It all goes to show: Serena is a hero in more ways than one.
