Parramatta Eels have sought to clarify reports that Kieran Foran has asked for a release from his contract with the NRL outfit.
Media reports suggested Foran, 25, will opt out of his $5million AUD contract to take a break from the game to sort out his private life.
However, the Eels revealed on Friday there has been no contact from Foran's representatives.
"The Parramatta Eels have not received a request from Kieran Foran's management regarding a release from his contract," an Eels statement read.
"Kieran's welfare is the club's primary concern and the Eels will continue to offer him all the resources available to aid in his recovery.
"The club will be making no further comment on the matter."
Foran has already been ruled out for the entire 2016 season after undergoing surgery to repair a shoulder injury.
