Le Roux handed one-week ban for dangerous challenge

Willie le Roux has been handed a one-week ban for a dangerous tackle on Tiernan O'Halloran during the third Test between South Africa and Ireland on Saturday.

Chasing a box-kick down the left touchline early in the first half of the game in Port Elizabeth, which the Springboks won 19-13, Le Roux collided with O'Halloran, who landed awkwardly on his neck.

O'Halloran was able to continue, while Le Roux was yellow carded and cited for the incident.

He has now been handed a one-week suspension, meaning the full-back will miss Sharks' Super Rugby meeting with Lions on Saturday.
