Bogut out for remainder of NBA Finals, avoids surgery

Andrew Bogut will miss the remainder of the NBA Finals with a knee injury, the Golden State Warriors announced on Wednesday.

Bogut injured his left knee when he collided with a falling J.R. Smith mid-air in the third quarter of Golden State's Game 5 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Center Bogut, who entered Monday's game averaging 4.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots per game during the post-season, will avoidsurgery but is to miss six to eight weeks to recover from bone bruises to the proximal tibia and distal femur.

The Warriors hold a 3-2 series lead heading into Thursday's Game 6 in Cleveland.
