Republic of Ireland fans are still feeling positive about the Euros after drawing with Holland

It was a big night for the Republic of Ireland with boss Martin O'Neill yet to name most of his squad for the Euro 2016 finals in France.

Their penultimate warm-up game, played at the Aviva stadium in Dublin against Holland (who didn't qualify for the tournament this year), might not have got off to the most exciting start...

But, after getting treatment on a nasty cut, Shane Long managed to turn a goal in from close range.

And Ireland fans were understandably very excited the 29-year-old Southampton striker put them 1-0 up. Especially because his performance was another display which demonstrated his growing maturity and ability to produce on the big stage - something which has for so long been Robbie Keane's mantle.

Even if it was a bit of a messy goal...

Then it all went a bit wrong for Ireland's defence with five minutes remaining when substitute De Jong met Jetro Willems' cross unopposed.

But you know what, fans are staying positive.

In fact some people are feeling really positive about Ireland's chances at the tournament...
