Sharks shutout seals game two against Blues


The San Jose Sharks shut out the St Louis Blues to win game two of their NHL Western Conference finals 4-0 and tie the series at 1-1. 

Brent Burns scored a goal in each of the second and third periods to seal the win for the Sharks at the Scottrade Center in St Louis on Tuesday. 

Sharks goaltender Martin Jones made 26 saves as they held on for their second shutout of the post-season. 

San Jose took the lead just two minutes, 7 seconds into the first period through Tommy Wingels to silence the home support. 

Burns doubled the Sharks' advantage seven minutes into the second period before the 31-year-old posted his second midway through the third. 

Dainius Zubrus rounded out the result in the closing stages, credited with a goal that rolled into an empty net. 

Game three moves to San Jose on Thursday where the Sharks will look to move ahead in the series on their home ice.
