Michel Platini is to resign as Uefa president after failing to overturn his ban at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)
The court cut his sanction from six to four years, and Platini has responded by saying he will step down from the top Uefa position he has held since 2007.
Platini was ruled to be guilty of conflict of interest for taking a 2 million US dollars (£1.4m) payment from Fifa approved by Sepp Blatter in 2011.

He's called the verdict a "deep injustice", which is fine, except that pretty much nobody agrees.
People were sceptical...
#Platini wants to continue his fight to prove his honesty.
First he'll have to find it

A little bemused at his upbeat closing remarks
And some, sarcastic
So Platini is resigning from a job he is banned from. Nice one kid. Nice one.

Feel sorry for Platini. Too much is made of ethics in football governance. Am I right @SeppBlatter ? Yeah, I'm right.

But the biggest question of all? What's next?
