Liverpool fans torn over Daniel Sturridge as Swansea see off Reds

Daniel Sturridge continues to cause rifts between Liverpool fans.

The striker was left out of Thursday's Europa League semi-final against Villarreal, but returned to a much-changed Liverpool line-up against Swansea on Sunday.

Swansea ran out comfortable 3-1 winners, but for Reds fans the main issue was the handling of the England striker by manager Jurgen Klopp ahead of their biggest game of the season in midweek.

It's fair to say opinions wildly differ on the 26-year-old goalscorer.

His inclusion in the team, just four days before the second leg in Europe, baffled those who want him to lead Liverpool's attack on Thursday.

But when Andre Ayew headed Swansea into the lead, a former Liverpool full-back pointed the finger at Sturridge.

And then Sturridge's critics came to the fore.

But still the Reds camp was split

Sturridge failed to make a mark despite staying on for the whole game.

Fans of other teams would happily solve Liverpool's Sturridge problem.

Attention at Anfield now turns to Thursday night - but will Sturridge be playing? Only the man on the left knows.
