Tomane blow for Brumbies and Australia

Joe Tomane is a doubt for Australia's Test series against England after the Brumbies wing was ruled out for up to eight weeks due to a knee injury.

The 26-year-old was sent for a scan after clipping legs with Crusaders flanker Matt Todd in Sunday's 40-14 Super Rugby defeat at GIO Stadium.

Tomane has sustained medial ligament damage and will not feature for Brumbies before the June Test break.

The in-form Tomane's participation in the three-match Test series against Six Nations champions England, which starts on June 11, is also in doubt.

Brumbies' leading try-scorer helped himself to a hat-trick in the victory over Waratahs this month and added his sixth try of the season against Crusaders before being dealt a late injury blow.

Stephen Moore is being monitored on a daily basis after the Brumbies co-captain damaged his calf against Crusaders.

Wallabies' Moore missed training on Tuesday, but Brumbies are hoping he will be fit to face Super Rugby champions Highlanders on Saturday.
