Catalans Dragons extended their Super League winning streak to seven games by defeating Salford Red Devils 42-32 at the Stade Gilbert Brutus.
Following victories for top two Warrington Wolves and Wigan Warriors, Catalans kept pace at the summit by coming out on top in a topsy-turvy encounter in Perpignan.
Gareth O'Brien gave Salford an early lead, but the Dragons responded quickly, Krisnan Inu's brilliant offload enabling Jodie Broughton to cross.
O'Brien added a penalty to Justin Carney's try to give Salford a 10-4 lead inside 15 minutes, but Catlans went into the break ahead as Morgan Escare - in for Tony Gigot - and Vincent Duport scored either side of a try from Junior Sa'u.
Sa'u ran in another early in the second half, but the Dragons appeared to take complete control with Broughton touching down his 13th try of the season between a double from Richie Myler.
Pat Richards kicked a penalty to extend their lead, but Salford set up a tense final as Sa'u completed his hat-trick and Evalds added his second.
However, Thomas Bosc converted Richards' try with five minutes remaining to keep Catalans joint top with Warrington and Wigan.
