He might be suspect from dead balls and he might look like he's running around aimlessly at times, but James Milner is trying his hardest to take Mesut Ozil's crown as king of assists.
Milner provided two assists during Liverpool's 4-0 win in the Merseyside derby, one for Divock Origi and one for Mamadou Sakho, taking his tally for 2016 to eight in the Premier League and 11 in all competitions. No other player in the competition can better that.
Some Liverpool fans are summing it up like this.
Milner is our best worst player ever
-- Sabah (@Sabah07) April 20, 2016
Just for comparison Ozil has only managed three since the turn of the year, but is still six ahead of his closest challenger.
That doesn't matter though, the Liverpool fans are really enjoying their new provider.
Milner combines the creativity of Ozil but can also play right back if required. The complete player.

Milner joined the Reds on a free transfer over the summer and has now registered 14 assists this season.
WHO NEEDS OZIL WHEN YOU'VE GOT JAMES MILNER

What a role model. Just proving all the haters wrong.
Every week people moan about Milner and every week it's assist after assist!!

We asked Boring James Milner what the key was. He said: "I just cross the ball. And then people head it in." Insight.
There's this theory regarding his sudden explosion in creative flair.
James Milner has discovered in the last 6 days that he's actually left footed. This boy could be a world beater #LFC

But whatever you do, just keep him off corners.
Milner's crossing is unreal
Milner's corners are trash

When the fans weren't busy praising Milner, their attentions turned towards the Everton fans.
Little kids are crying in the Everton end. This is what football is all about
-- Shane (@Blame_Suarez) April 20, 2016
Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse for Everton, we bring Wee Joe on ???
-- Darren Farley (@DFImpressionist) April 20, 2016
It was a terrible day for the Toffees, who were 2-0 down at half-time, and it quicklygot worse after Ramiro Funes Mori was sent off.
If Lonsdale done football teams. Everton.
-- NoMessinGegenPressin (@WarriorLFC) April 20, 2016
Maybe next year will be better, Everton fans.
But hey at least Everton showed their ambition by not selling Stones.
