NRL high-flyers Brisbane Broncos will be without winger Lachlan Maranta for up to eight weeks due to a knee injury.
Maranta damaged his medial ligament playing for Norths Devils in the Queensland Cup last week.
The 23-year-old, who spent the majority of the pre-season recovering from a fractured wrist, is now facing at least six weeks on the sidelines.
Maranta - the Broncos' leading try-scorer last season with 15 - made his one and only appearance of the 2016 campaign in Brisbane's 21-20 win over North Queensland Cowboys in round four as they avenged their grand final defeat.
The Broncos top the table with five wins from six games.
