Sharks boss Gold fined for misconduct

Gary Gold has been fined for abusing a television match official (TMO) Johan Greeff during Sharks' Super Rugby match against Crusaders on March 26.

Sharks director of rugby Gold admitted a charge of misconduct after engaging the TMO on two separate occasions and using "crude and insulting language" towards the official.

The 49-year-old has been fined a total of 12,500 Australian dollars, with a further A$2,500 suspended for 12 months, and ordered to pay SANZAAR's costs of A$1,000.

Gold, who apologised to the TMO for his behaviour, was formally reprimanded and issued with a warning.
