Moeen Ali wants to see Liam Dawson make his England debut as one of three spinners in the side to face Afghanistan in the World Twenty20 on Wednesday.
Dawson was a surprise inclusion in the England squad for the World T20 in India, with head coach Trevor Bayliss revealing he had never seen the Hampshire left-armer bowl before he was selected.
England went with Moeen and Adil Rashid as the two spin options in their defeat against West Indies and victory over South Africa.
But Moeen would like to see Dawson get his chance in Delhi, where England will be expected to secure a win which would move them a step closer to reaching the semi-finals.
"I've worked quite a bit with him, he's really good," all-rounder Moeen said when asked about Dawson.
"He can bowl really well with the new ball and the older ball.
"We've got a good side and we've just won a game against South Africa so I'm not sure exactly what the captain and coach are thinking, but maybe the guys are talking about playing three spinners.
"It would be a good idea I feel."
