James Tedesco grabbed a hat-trick of tries as Wests Tigers made it two wins from two in the NRL with a 36-22 victory over Manly Sea Eagles at Leichhardt Oval.
Tedesco claimed two of his touchdowns late in the game on Monday to make sure the Tigers, who beat New Zealand Warriors in round one, kept Manly waiting for their first win under Trent Barrett.
The Sea Eagles were guilty of starting slowly as their hosts responded to an early Jamie Lyon penalty with 16 unanswered points.
David Nofoaluma collected a Mitchell Moses chip to touch down in the right corner, after Luke Brooks had been allowed to gather a kick of his own, and Kevin Naiqama then crossed before laying on Tedesco's first try.
A rousing fightback saw Manly draw level - first-half scores from Lewis Brown and Dylan Walker followed up by a Jorge Taufua try two minutes after the interval.
However, the Tigers were soon back on top, Jordan Rankin scoring his first try for the club in the left corner before a wonderful flicked pass from Naiqama put Nofoaluma over on the right.
A Moses penalty extended the lead and Tedesco picked up two more tries inside the final 10 minutes, either side of Martin Taupau's solo effort against his former club.
