Sutton to miss 16 weeks due to pectoral injury

South Sydney Rabbitohs will be without forward John Sutton for 16 weeks after he ruptured a pectoral muscle, the NRL side confirmed.

Sutton was hurt during the Rabbitohs' season-opening 42-10 rout of the Sydney Roosters on Sunday.

The 31-year-old was forced from the field late at Allianz Stadium, with the 2014 premiership player unavailable until at least round 17.

South Sydney are also sweating on the fitness of half-back Adam Reynolds, who underwent further scans on Monday after hurting his jaw against the Roosters.
