Windies batsman Simmons out of World T20


West Indies batsman Lendl Simmons has been ruled out of the World Twenty20 due to a back injury.

The Windies have already lost Kieron Pollard, Darren Bravo and Sunil Narine from the initial 15-man squad they named for the tournament in India

And Simmons will also play no part in their quest to regain the title which they won in Sri Lanka four years ago. 

Selectors have not yet named a replacement for the 31-year-old, who has scored four T20 half-centuries in 33 innings and averages 25.36.

West Indies start their T20 campaign against England in Mumbai a week on Wednesday.
