Dragons deny Cronk reports

St George-Illawarra Dragons coach Paul McGregor insisted Cooper Cronk will not be joining the NRL club in 2017.

Australia international Cronk has been linked with a move away from Melbourne Storm when his contract expires at the end of the 2016 season.

The Dragons have reportedly offered the half-back a lucrative three-year deal but McGregor moved to hose down speculation on Friday.

"To put a few rumours to rest, Cooper Cronk hasn't been spoken to by anyone at the club," McGregor said.

"That's that put to sleep. He's not coming."

Of reports linking the Dragons with Gold Coast Titans star Josh Hoffman, McGregor added: "That's news to me.

"I haven't heard that one, so that's fresh to me. There's no truth in that either."
