Steve Smith is under pressure to turn Australia's form around when the first Test with New Zealand gets underway in Wellington on Friday, according to Ryan Harris.
Australia have lost six of their last seven matches in limited-overs matches and face two Tests with the Black Caps having lost the one-day series 2-1.
Their form in Tests has provided some solace with seven games without defeat, and Harris says that must continue to ease the burden on Smith.
"I think he's under pressure on the road," Harris told Fox Sports News. "They all are. One of Australia's biggest goals is to play well on the road and we haven't been able to do that.
"Once again, with the losses we've had over in New Zealand. We've been close but there's been certain parts of the game where we've let ourselves down.
"But I don't think there's too many over there who have played Test cricket over there. I know the guys will be up for the challenge. The short turnaround I don't think will faze the guys too much."
