Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch appears to have announced his retirement from the NFL.
Lynch, 29, was reported to have told family and friends earlier on Sunday about his plans to retire.
In a tweet during Super Bowl 50, Lynch posted a picture of hung cleats.
A five-time Pro Bowl representative, Lynch was part of the Seahawks' Super Bowl-winning team in February 2014.
He was twice the NFL rushing touchdowns leader (2013, 2014) and is in top 30 for all-time for rushing touchdowns.
Lynch's 2015 season saw him play in seven games after numerous injury worries, including hamstring, calf, neck and abdominal issues.
